The modified (mod) Gboard application called PixelBoard can be easily downloaded from GitHub. In addition to many functional features of Gboard, some are not available to non-Pixel users. These include the notable Rambler voice typing mode, which was recently introduced with the Pixel 11 series. If users are not satisfied with Swiftkey’s AI voice mode, there is a useful option.
According to the test results in the source, in the test conducted by the developer on the vivo X300 FE device, the Rambler voice mode worked by removing pauses in speech, filling sounds such as “eeee” and converting them into cleanly formatted text. With the text tools, the text can be quickly reviewed, edited, shortened or expanded. PixelBoard can be downloaded and installed on any Android phone without root access. The application can be installed along with the original Gboard, and the existing Gboard installation can be patched using Morphe Manager and the writing tools can be activated with Rambler. The developer stated that he plans to update PixelBoard with each new Gboard release.
