Zero-Copy Network Creation and Resource Efficiency
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) enables data transfer from one computer’s memory to another’s memory, without affecting either computer’s operating system. This capability enables high-speed, low-latency network formation, which is especially important for large, parallel computer clusters.
Despite the fact that InfiniBand (a high-performance computing link) is superior to many technological alternatives in terms of RDMA, its commercial future is uncertain.
