Zero-Copy Network Creation and Resource Efficiency Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) enables data transfer from one computer’s memory to another’s memory without affecting either computer’s operating system. This capability enables high-speed, low-latency network creation, which is particularly important for large, parallel computer clusters.
Despite the fact that InfiniBand (a link used in high-performance computing) is superior to many technological alternatives in terms of RDMA, its commercial future is uncertain.
