Zero-Copy Networking and Resource Efficiency
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) enables data transfer from one computer’s memory to another’s memory without involving the operating systems of either computer. This capability enables high-speed, low-latency network formation, which is critical for large, parallel computer clusters.Despite the fact that InfiniBand (a high-performance communication link) is superior to many technological alternatives in terms of RDMA, its commercial future is uncertain.
