Zero-Copy Network Creation and Resource Efficiency
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) enables data transfer from one computer’s memory to another’s memory, without affecting either computer’s operating system. This feature enables high-speed, low-latency network creation, which is particularly important for large, parallel computer clusters.
Despite the fact that InfiniBand (a high-performance communication link) is superior to many technological alternatives in terms of RDMA, its commercial future is uncertain.
