Zero-Copy Network Creation and Resource Efficiency
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) allows data to be transferred from one computer’s memory to another’s memory without affecting either computer’s operating system. This capability enables high-speed, low-latency network creation, which is important for large, parallel computer clusters.
Although InfiniBand (a high-performance communication link) is superior to many technological alternatives in terms of RDMA, its commercial future is uncertain.
